The International Society of Business Leaders Recognizes Jude Perera
Jude Perera is the Senior Advisor and Cabinet Chief to the Deputy Director General at the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), the global forum for intellectual property services, policy, information and cooperation. With over 20 years of experience as a senior professional specialist in human resources administration, Jude is an expert in international affairs, global human resources, marketing, finance and humanitarian aid.
After completing his studies toward a Master of Science in International Relations and Affairs-Law and Economics from the Institute for Higher International Studies, Jude quickly established himself as management and top-tier executive material on the global scale. He has 10 years of experience in management for the multinational private sector, including the pharmaceutical industry, and has multiple competencies in administration, finance and supply management.
A native of Sri Lanka, Jude’s career has taken him all over the world, having lived in France, Egypt, and Croatia. Today, he resides in Switzerland and also holds Swiss citizenship. Prior to joining the WIPO in 2000, he served at the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR). Jude speaks English and French, and a working proficiency of Sinhala, German and Arabic.
An international and cross-cultural professional, Jude is a Certified Internal Auditor and has completed various executive training programs in HR: targeted selection, performance evaluation, succession planning and negotiation. He is a Founding Member and former President of the WIPO Staff Union (WSU), and Former vice-president WIPO Staff Council. He is also a former “cadre” (Supervisor) of the Swiss “protection civile” – Geneva/Varembé unit.
Outside his professional endeavors, Jude enjoys traveling, music, automotive sports and vintage cars.
