Dr. Roel is the owner of Eastside Eye Center, and Westside Eye and Surgical Center in Spartanburg, South Carolina. He is highly recognized in his field having over 20 years of experience in the field. He has 23 peer reviewed publications. Has participated in numerous conferences with regard to ophthalmology and neurosciences. Dr. Roel was Assistant Professor at North Western University Medical & Dental School from 1978-1981. In addition to his extremely busy professional life, Dr. Roel finds time to do extensive volunteer work. He is a staunch contributor of USC Upstate, S. Carolina, there is a building named after his wife P. Kathryn Hicks, Visual Arts Center. Contributed to the building of the Dr. Lawrence Roel Garden Pavilion, USC Upstate, S. Carolina. Contributes to the Men’s Garden Club and the Masters Garden Club in his town. . Dr. Roel is fluent in English and Spanish.
