Dr. Venta Kabzems is the Principal of Crestwood School (of Edmonton Public Schools), where specialized advanced programs for students in grades seventh through ninth are offered. Dr. Kabzems’ strengths include excellent leadership skills and an innate ability to facilitate innovation and creativity among students and colleagues alike. She imbues in her students and staff integrity, fairness and transparency through a positive and inclusive approach. Not one to back down from a challenge, she finds reward in problem solving—even in the more complicated situations that arise in the education administration field. Dr. Kabzems received her PhD in Educational Psychology, her BA in Sociology and her BEd in Education of Exceptional Students, all from the University of Saskatchewan. She earned her MEd in Special Education-Teaching from the University of Alberta. Her professional affiliations include the Teacher Association Leadership and the IMANA, which provides scholarships for students. Dr. Kabzems is a former board member of L.A.R.S.
