As Chief Executive Officer of Standard Bank International & Plc. Jenny Knott brings almost 30 years of Executive banking experience to the role. Standard Bank Group is the largest African Banking Group by assets and earnings, offering a full range of banking and financial services. The bank established its London office in 1992 where Jenny is situated. It serves as the base for its Corporate & Investment Banking‘s expansion into emerging markets. Employing over 1000 staff, the London office is the hub from which the bank manages all its international operations outside Africa. The group’s largest shareholder is Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (ICBC), the world’s largest bank, with a 20.1% shareholding. In addition, Standard Bank Group and ICBC share a strategic partnership that facilitates trade and deal flow between Africa, China and select emerging markets. In recent years, led by the Corporate & Investment Banking division, the bank has gained a significant presence around the world. Recently Standard Bank Group was very proud to announce the sale of 60% of its international Global Market Operations through the disposal of 60% of the ordinary share capital of Standard Bank Plc. Jenny started her distinguished career as Product and Financial Controller with the Swiss Bank Corporation in 1986. She then went on to become Head of Product Control and Financial Reporting at PaineWebber, Head of Finance and Product Control at UBS and International Finance Director at Nomura Securities before joining Standard Bank. Throughout this time she has expertly provided banking, finance, trading, investment and risk management. She received her education at Crownwoods and is affiliated with Standard International Holdings SA.
