The International Society of Business Leaders Recognizes Jawad Alzeer, PhD
Dr. Jawad Alzeer is a Lecturer & Senior Researcher at in the Chemistry Department of the University of Zürich. With over 30 years of experience in organic chemistry and scientific leadership, he is an innovative researcher renowned for his dynamic communication skills. His broad range of expertise includes pharmaceuticals, nutraceuticals, cosmetics, molecular biology, biotechnology, cancer research and treatment, organic synthesis and synthetic organic chemistry, and food.
In addition to his role at the University, Jawad serves as the Managing Director of the Swiss Scientific Society for Developing Countries (SSSDC), a neutral and non-profit organization devoted to promote communications, research, education and business between Switzerland and Developing countries.
After earning a master’s degree in Organic Chemistry from Karachi University in Pakistan, Jawad went on to complete a PhD in Organic Chemistry from ETH Zurich. He conducted his doctoral dissertation on oligosaccharide analogues of cellulose, under Advisor Prof. A. Vasella and Co-examiner Prof. F. Dietrich.
Jawad is driven by the principle that marketing a concept is a greater challenge than marketing a product, and that it is critical to raise awareness about diseases, conditions or problems, in order to solve or cure them. His work has been published in medical and scientific journals all over the world, and he speaks four languages: Arabic, English, German and Urdu.
Outside of his teaching and research endeavors, Jawad enjoys travel and swimming, and is an avid reader.
