The International Society of Business Leaders Recognizes Rafael Salazar
Rafael Salazar has more than 40 years of professional experience. Currently, he is on the Board of The Peruvian Association of Entrepreneurs, Peruvian Chapter of the Latin American Association of Entrepreneurs. He also participates in the Compliance and Public Policies Board Committees.
Formerly, Member of the Board Audit Committee in a mining company. Over the past twelve years he has been the Chief Audit Executive in the mining, fishmeal and fish oil industries. He developed his experience as a Controller and as an Audit Principal and Manager in EY and PW, respectively.
A Peruvian Certified Public Accountant, he graduated from the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru (PUC) with a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting obtained in 1980, and is an affiliate of the Accounting Institute of Peru, Compliance Association, and Internal Audit Institute Worldwide. He holds several Certifications as Risk Management Assurance (CRMA) by the Institute of Internal Auditors (Global) and as Independent Board Member by CENTRUM, Postgraduate Institute of the PUC and by EADA Business School of Barcelona, Spain.
He has a strong background in Strategy, Auditing, Risk Assessment and Compliance in Economic Groups in Latin America and in various sectors. He excels in leadership in developing initiatives for improving the profitability and sustainability of the business, especially in the implementation of risk management models and good corporate governance practices. He has also provided advisory support in family-owned private and public business,
Rafael is interested to contact Company Owners, Board Members and Counselors to share his experience as an Independent Board Member and providing additional support and counsel to the Audit, Risk and Compliance Committees based on his experience.
