The International Society of Business Leaders Recognizes Thomas Jaarsma

Thomas Jaarsma is the Finance Director of Intralox LLC. With over 20 years of experience in finance, Thomas contributes fully to the development of strategy across all areas of business, challenging assumptions and decision-making as appropriate and providing financial analysis and guidance on all activities, plans, targets and business drivers. He holds a Bachelors in Economics (2004), and a Bachelors in Finance (1997).

Thomas wears many hats as Finance Director. He ensures the company’s financial systems are robust, compliance and supports current activities and future growth. The details of his responsibilities are extensive, and he has the overall control and responsibility for all financial aspects of company strategy. He is expected to analyze financial figures and implement recommendations based on these findings, with the most profitable outcomes. He often manages and leads a team through challenging periods, including annual budgeting.  Thomas has excellent people management and communication skills with all levels of staff, often working with various departments to help them plan and manage their own budgets.

Thomas has to interact with operate and financial staff across multiple countries in different regions, each with unique processes, operations and financial and economic decision inputs. He is able to switch gears at any given time, according to the role and environment at hand. He is responsible for liaising with multiple financial institutions, in various countries, as well as other financial counterparties, each abiding by their own processes and regulations. He manages the day-to-day for the EMEA and APAC Treasury, including the back and front of house operations through the execution of treasury tasks. Thomas also handles in-house bank management, cash and debt management, foreign exchange operations, risk management, financial analysis, modeling and treasury planning.

His goals over the next few years are to continue growth, education, and networking in professional environments. He looks forward to connecting with the global community to exchanging knowledge. He resides in the Netherlands.
